This 3"x5" piece of art is painted on cold pressed watercolor paper, using pencil and watercolors with a touch of ink for some details.
This card is supposed to represent the Ace of Pentacles from a traditional tarot deck, which is one of my favourite cards. It announced beginnings and prosperity, an amassing of wealth, and I think the white trillium, my province's official flower, is such a perfect sybol of it. Trilliums are pollinated by ants and take years to germinate and flower. This is a card of beginnings, of slow growth, and hope for the future.
I painted this originally for my deck but I accidentally used the wrong paper so I repainted it on my deck paper, and am letting go of this original. I hope it finds a happy home.
